Jack Swiney, Secretary

Jack is a second year MPA student. He began his membership in SAPA his first year, and is excited to be secretary of SAPA for the 2019-2020 school year!
Jack is from St. Albans, West Virginia. He graduated from WVU in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Sociology and Anthropology. Jack served as the Department Graduate Assistant his first year in the program, and has since moved to another position at WellWVU. Here, he has built and leads the Tobacco- and Smoke-Free Campus Ambassador program- a peer-to-peer service group that acts to end tobacco and vaping use on campus and promotes healthier lifestyle choices.
Jack is passionate about advocacy. After graduation, he hopes to further his education to better serve those around him. He frequently volunteers his time participating in prevention education events around campus. For fun, Jack enjoys attending WVU sporting events, playing musical instruments, and spending time with his friends and family (especially his twin brother.)
