Maggie Beck is a dual degree MPA/MSW student in her first year at WVU, and is thrilled to get more involved as SAPA's current President.

Growing up in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, Maggie saw first hand the ways in which social workers and public administrators can help each other establish stable, safe, and flourishing communities. She wants to work to bridge the divide between policy makers and social service providers to ensure the best solutions are being implemented into social policies to help our communities.
During her undergrad at Wright State University, Maggie served as President of the Eta Delta chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society which provided professional development and service opportunities to social work students. She has volunteered with Catholic Social Services, United Irish of Dayton, and The National Conference for Community and Justice of Greater Dayton. While her professional experience mostly resides in the world of parks and recreation, she is gaining new experiences working with the Monongalia County Clerk's office assisting in the vital records and voter registration departments.

In her free time, you can find Maggie hiking, baking, or binging a silly show on Netflix.
